Just some thoughts of mine on presenting the case for accessibility to stakeholders

Some thoughts on how to motivate stakeholders to embrace accessibility from my experience:

  1. Show them the benefits – don’t tell, show – talk is cheap, proof is needed,
  2. Show them what are the value added components, key point indicators, what and how can be measured,
  3. Show them how accessibility empowers brand, how it can increase customer loyalty, how it can even increase employee loyalty and inclusion.

Simple aspects at first, but not so simple to really make a valid point with hard facts. It really depends. If you find yourself in a situation when you start fresh, it is easier, if you live in a country that has decent legislation, add compliance as well. If you have some data that can help understanding, show it.

It is not easy, but it should and must be done. Feel free to share your experiences with me.
